Lacanian critics might say her poetry is a true eruption of the pre-verbal semiotic stage, and this would be a complement. I'm not too fond of all that intrusive pschoanalysis. I just know that when I hear songs like "Delicate Cutters" and "The Letter", I'm amazed at how she can turn a pile of stale words into something wonderful. It's like Virginia Woolf meets Vladimir Nabokov: the ability, through art, to recreate the world around us into something beautiful; very cathartic. Just my own humble opinion.
