in response to your question, there are basically NO worthwhile outlets in oc to speak of. oh, sure, you might get lucky at bionic or noise noise noise, but to really find the stuff you're looking for, you're going to have to head north to l.a.--to penny lane or the like--or south to san diego--to off the record, blue meanie, etc.
better yet, check out any of the great online companies offering cool stuff. they've really improved of late, and i always see lots of "rare" stuff whenever i go digging...
