That is probably the best cover of "Jersey Girl" I've ever heard, better
than the one Bruce Springsteen did. I used to be a big Springsteen fan
and even had the nerve to call up Juliane Phillips' parents house in Lake
Oswego, Oregon during Bruce and Juliane's honeymoon party. I didn't get
to speak to The Boss but did chat with Juliane's Dad for a while. These
days, Bruce owns his work he does for Sony and Juliane is doing bad
movies with Tom Arnold called "Big Bully". Remember her from "Fletch
Lives", anyone??

Too bad I missed your Hour Of Power, Steven,
But I needed to say to this whole list that
 David Wisdom's program is a must : I learned
about many great musical stuff on that show,
and the open-ness of David's selection is one
 to emulate any.

And Brave New Wave is very good too, with all these interviews
and profiles, even Ivo Watts-Russell in person, once.

All this on a multi-nationwide radio.

 Wow !

Love you Patty and David.....

yeah. whoever has ToT info...POST IT! i am having a bitch of a time finding
anything. also, i don't know how many of you know about the alan moore-david
j-tim perkins trio (i don't ever see it on discographies). anyway, i have two
of their discs. i guess they are not really music, but poetry with background
noise/music. they are interesting. anyway, i have "the birth caul" and
something with the words "moon" and "egyptian" in the title. the latter is on
cleopatra, but i forget the name(got it yesterday). anyway, i thought it would
be a point of interest for those who enjoy collecting stuff from the former
bauhaus boys.

With all due respect, he *could* be replaced, couldn't he? Although the
circumstances remind me of the death of Ian Curtis (i.e. their respective
bands were just beginning to experience their biggest success), it's not as
if the remaining members of Lush would feel compelled to start an entirely
new band.

Red Wyvern,

Ohhhhhh, you really hurt my feelings. I'm unsure if I can take it.
Where did you learn to write such witty retorts? Here's a tip for you:
If you're going to attack me openly on the list, try to do it on a level
higher than your all too obvious grade two or three education permits.
In the meantime, if you must attack me, do so privately as not to clutter
this list up, OK. You pretty funny, "Red", a ha ha fuckin' hardy har.

        Hey!

Let's see how good lush used to be, and how they're now

And the great band that joy division was at the moment of ian
curtis'suicide, closer is a gem.

That's not a word i can use for the last thing lush released.

        Regards.

to those who recently mentioned John Strohm. Do you know that he formed a "new"
band called Velo-deluxe with 2 other guys from Indiana. They released a CD
late 1994 or early in 1995 called "Superelastic" on Mammoth Records
(MR0089-4).

BTW, I don't work for Mammoth; I just liked the CD & I met John once and
thought was a real sweet guy.

Sorry if this is old news.

I heard that the Mojave 3 single has been canned (the one with the string
version of "Mercy"...

And today I got a promo CD of "All Mixed Up" - 3 trax, artwork on back
only...album version, edit (4:20), and album version of "Make Like Paper".
Nothing too exciting. At the show I saw, Mark said that a CD single was
being released but that it would be UK only.

First things first - I'm sorry Chris Acland is dead.

Now a reply:

So are you saying it's ok for them to go on with him alive, but
not ok if he's dead. That dosen't seem right to me. If he were alive
they would tour and he'd see them on TV and in the papers and get all
depressed anyway.

Were lush planning on fireing him? I heard they were looking for a
replacement.

When Mojave 3 came through town in May for STP I talked with them about
the upcoming "Mercy" EP. Now, it looks like it's been permanently
shelved. A new album is out in '97 though...

But it did happen. I saw a post on alt.music.4ad from someone who had it
on tape and she said it was beautiful.

well they have 2 new songs already (one of which is over 15minutes long)
so those might be the b-sides. plus they could always release a bunch of
zeppelin covers.
