I think Warren Defever produced Listening Cap; I know he produced Jenny Toomeys
(who sings in Liquorice) band GRENADINE's last album, Nopolitos, and he wrote
the liner notes on the back of that album as well. If you like her voice in
Liquorice, you should definitely hear Grenadine's two albums and all the Tsunami
records (another Jenny Toomey band, she does alot huh).
Can anybody tell me what happened to the two members of AIR MIAMI that
used to play bass and drums but now it's just Mark Robinson, the
beautiful Bridget Cross, and a drummer who, although I can't remember
the name, is not the same as the drummer before. Does anyone know?
And I am not up on His Name Is Alive, so what does Warren Defever do in that
band, is he a player or does he just do production/engineering?

hmm.... fascinating. Anyway, I am honored to be on your 'killlist', you
know, that's the whole reason I state my opinions here..... just to be on
Chad's kill list. You know, you contradict yourself a lot... that, or you
just arent reading right.
"...But, that is my opinion, if you have a mac and have no complaints... i
won't say anything. --to each his own..." Notice the word **OPINION**
there? (see, I even put them in all capitals so you won't make the mistake
of not noticing them ever again) If you have the have the address for the:
"everything-I-have-and-everything-I-believe-is-the-way-to-be-and-everyone-el
se- who-doesn't-feel-the-same-is-an-idiot list?" Maybe you should post it
here because there are, in fact, many, many people in here that deserve to
be on your list. I won't say any names, they should know who they are....
mostly the ones who post a lot on this list, that's for sure.
Oh yeah...
I happen to like lush's new material.
I also like His Name Is Alive's 'livonia.'
ooohh... am I gonna get any flamers because of that, or what.
Grow up, people.
True, Microsoft may have got that idea for DOS because of CP/M. But DOS is
alive and CP/M isn't.
Hey man, it's a business.... it's each man for himself.
Like Orville Redenbacher said: "you take one thing and do it better than
everyone"
And apparently that is just what Microsoft did.

as far as i know, warren defever writes virtually all of the music that
is released as his name is alive. he also plays many of the instruments
(chiefly guitars). much is recorded at his house in livonia michigan
(suburb of detroit), and much is produced and engineered by him. Ivo
mixed some songs on livonia. he also directed one of their videos. he
used to be in a band called elvis hitler, and another one called the
fishcats. i once saw him perform with a group called the dirt eaters,
whose lineup was almost identical to that of hnia.
when curious about a name in the liner notes (warren defever, for
example), i usually check out the eyesore database under the list of
people category.
the this mortal coil boxed set was dedicated to him, something i still
don't fully understand, other than as an indication of how much ivo
digs warren.

For those who'll buy anything, no everything from Warren Defever, the
Princess Dragon Mom CD is essential. As close as he'll come to putting out an
album of lip-farts. Experimental with an emphasis on MENTAL.

I don't understand why lots of people out there think single girl is the
least attractive song in lovelife. Although I'm not the biggest lush fan
here, at least I still can appreciate single girl and none of the songs in
their lastest album are shit.

yes its true that the way to succeed in business is to do one thing
better than anyone else. As long as it remains clear that Microsoft's
forte has been marketing and NOT quality software. What was that beautiful
line someone wrote about convincing the lemmings to consume a floopy disc
full of feces?

Lauren (bass) is in the band Viva Satellite that also happens to contain Rob
Eggs/Grenadine and is inclined towards doing conceptual musical/play-like
material. Basically it's just Lauren and Rob. Their stuff can be had on
TeenBeat.
Mike (drummer)...not sure what happened with him.
John (ex-Eggs) drummed on some Air Miami demos (like the version of "Neely"
on the YEAH BUT 7"). I don't know if he ever played live with them. You can
ask him if he's still on the list.
I remember reading that when Mark got them, he wanted people that weren't
very confident of their skills on their respective instruments (sort of the
New Order approach to recruiting band members). Basically, Lauren hadn't
really bassed and Mike hadn't really drummed before. They play on "Pucker"
and "Airplane Rider" and pretty much all the stuff that was officially
released before ME.ME.ME.
More info than you probably expected that doesn't really say a whole lot of
anything.

What does everyone think of the following:
Liquorice
Air Miami
Scheer
I recently purchased a used copy of the Mojave 3 album and was a little
disappointed. It's not really bad or anything, just to monotone for me.
Basically it really all sounds the same and dull.
Should I even bother investing in the above mentioned bands/albums???

warren is hnia. writes, plays, records, produces, engineers, remixes,
retools...but he doesn't sing. that's karin's, chelle's, denise's, karen's,
whoever else's job. trey drums. so does damian. jymn plays guitar, too.
and melissa. scott does a drummy thing, too. karin messes around with a
cello. some other people add their two cents.
warren also is the king of michigan noize. but don't get me started on
THAT scene...it's a neverending story...
i heart gravitar,
k-j
madison electric single out soon..yay!
droo agrees jj is cute, but then again she's his friend...
i need more godzuki, btw...

actually, Lauren just quit Viva too! she moved to Philly, where I think she's
from originally. i got to see the satellite play last sunday, and they have
a new female singer, and a stand-in on bass. or maybe he's permanent? his
name is ian.
> Mike (drummer)...not sure what happened with him.
neither do i, but i do know that Gabe, who drummed on their lp, is working
at Taco Bell in Arlington, VA. He scored me and my friend jeff some choco
tacos!!!

no, i never played live with them sadly, but i played on four songs off of
their second demo. the version of "Neely" on the YEAH BUT 7", features a drum
machine! the credits that list me on drums was a typo/mistake. i forget why
that happened. i think Mark wanted the version off the demo, but 4AD put on
a different one. oh well......:)
fuck em' bucky!

Don't know what ex-drummer Mike Fellows is up to, but Lauren Feldsher is now
in Viva Satellite doing a kind of 60's musical stuff, with ex-Eggs Rob
Christiansen. They did a 7" on Happy Go Lucky , called 'Episode D'Amour
Matinee' (HAPPY 002) -with 2 French types, a 7" on TeenBeat, called
'Leonardo' (TB 146) and they have just released a really wonderful CD,
'Nishma' (TB 186).

I dug up a cindyTalk CD ep yesterday which I didn't even realize I had. It's
called "Secrets and Falling". The tracks are:
1. Song of Changes
2. The moon above me
3. in sunshine
4. empty hand
It is copyright 1991 by Midnight Music (Dong 76 CD).
I am trying to find his other two releases (in this world) and (wappinshaw)
but so far everyone wants around $20 for them.
Can anyone tell me where this ep came from? Are the songs off here
representative of in this world or wappinshaw? How about buying these other
CDs? Any place have them cheaper?
thanks

Does anyone have the Dead Can Dance (bootleg) 'Sinful Garden'? I saw it in a
mail order catalog and wondered if any one had any comments on tracks, sound
quality, etc.
Thanks!

Their last was released stateside by Ryko and in the U.K. on their label.
I don't think you are missing anything.
Yes they broke up. Steve Mack left the group. He's in another group. Don't
know who though.
