Cocteau Twins in Feedback

"I can't think of many bands that have been together as long as we have
and actually still like each other enough to be doing it for the
right reasons," says Liz Fraser of the Cocteau Twins. Thirteen years and
eight albums into their careers, the Cocteau Twins have accomplished
something few bands have been able to do: they've stayed together.

Join us Monday, 12 February at 4 p.m. PST (Tuesday, 00:00 GMT) in Club
Wired's Feedback forum to chat with the Cocteau Twins and listen via
RealAudio to cuts from their new album, "Milk and Kisses," scheduled for
release in April 1996.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Mmm...membership is free btw. Trivia: What would 4pm PST be in GMT??

No, no--10 points for EACH CATEGORY are to be distributed. In
other words, you can allot a total of 10 points for question 1, 10 points
for question 2, etc. And send them to the person who's doing the survey,
not the list. The only reason I'm posting this to the list is in case any
one else had the same confusion.

galaxie no longer exists. dean wareham went on to form luna, the others i
think also went on to other projects, but it's been a long time, don't know
what's happened to them. but luna's great, low actually opened for them a
year or so ago, along with wake ooloo, who are 40% of the feelies. stanley
demeski, another ex-feelie, plays drums in luna.

funny how it all comes together!

Correct spelling Galaxie 500

They released three LPs - Today, On Fire and This Is Our Music - all of which
are recommended. Also two eps - Blue Thunder and Fourth Of July - and a couple
of v rare singles.

Dean Wareham went on to form Luna, whilst Damon and Naomi released a delightful
LP of their own called More Sad Hits, before joining the dreadful Magic Hour.

(current sounds - Desert Wind - ROC, Advance - LFO, Henry Lee - Polly and Nick,

1. Is the CD of Gala in the UK still available in the cardboard slipcase that
is printed on the outside and the inside?

2. Is the normal CD of Spooky in the UK in a digipak or was that only a
limited edition? I remember seeing it when it first came out. I thought
"cool package" then saw the import price tag on it, passed out and was
carried home.

3. Was the "For Love" ep pressed as a 12" or was it only available as a
limited 10" and CD?

I'd appreciate any help-thanks!

Who knows? ... My guess would be that it's either Tanya Donnelly's kid,
or the child of one of the many other performers on that album. I don't
know if Ivo had kids then.

The lead singer/writer is Dominic Appleton. He is best know for
his work on the This Mortal Coil project, particularly 'the jeweler' and "I
am the cosmos'. I don't know about anybody else, but I think his voice is
one of the haunting I've ever heard. The only other thing he seems to have
been invovled with is his band Breathless. They put out two full length
albums 'Between Happiness and a Heatache' and 'Chasing Promises'. Both of
them are harder than anything he did with TMC, but good in there own way.
The tracks are long and have a 'building up' quality about them. My
favorite is 'Moment by Moment' off of 'Chasing Promises'.
Anyway, there worth a listen if you find any of Appleton's TMC work
worthwhile.

speaking of damon and naomi, they have a relatively new one called "the
wondrous world of" ...damon and naomi. it's on sub poop, believe it or
not. apparently the magic hour releases are really difficult to come by
and perhaps with good reason. if anyone is looking, i think che might
have put something(s) of theirs out. didn't dean wareham and his wife cut
a 7" called "bonnie and clyde"? i believe there might have been some
discussion of this last month. can't remember. egads. anyway, "on fire"
is one heck of a great album. i've never even seen a copy of "today" for
sale, except by some listy last month. the blue thunder 12" has a cover
of "ceremony" on it....which is by new order dammit!
if anyone is really, really interested, i have a crappy recording of luna
playing some acoustic songs on my radio station a couple of years back.
i'm pretty sure this is the only tape in existence (of that session). the
quality is really bad, though.
i'm outeeeee....

I think the "band" of Mr. & Mrs. Wareham is called Cagney & Lacee. They
released a 7" of a coupla really schmaltzy pop tunes (one of which is a
truly adorable Lee Hazlewood number) on the No. 6 label just a short while back.
