So, now that Air Miami and the new Boo Radley's are out, does anyone have
any comments on them?

I wasn't a huge Unrest fan, although I thought they had their moments, and
I didn't mind the Boo's progression towards their Giant Steps sound.

The latest bit of news from 4AD is that
Mojave had to change their name to Mojave 3,
because there is a German band already named Mojave.

Elysium tour dates are coming very soon.

As I said yesterday, Wednesday has Pram and Tarnation at Luna Park.
This is not a free show, and I don't suspect it will sell out.

Then Tarnation plays a free show on Thursday at Spaceland,
and on Friday at the No Life record store.

That's "what in tarnation is going on" at the moment.

Subject: 4AD WWW SITE 2.0

In the past few weeks I've learned a lot about writing HTML code. So in the
last three
days I've re-designed my 4AD web-page to see if it works on the 'real net'.

The first version of this site had just one page (a long one). The new
version has got 95
pages (!); one for every group/artist, one for every year and a few others.

If you click on an artist in one of the year-lists you will automatically
go to a list
with everything the artist has released on 4AD. It also works the other way
around.

Take a look at: (this is a NEW URL)

     http://www.luna.nl/~efdee/Catalogue/4AD.html

Use Netscape 1.1! (or it will look like shit)

I'm not planning to make 'the second eyesore database', it's just a quick
reference to
most of the (UK) releases. And a good study!

If you've got any comments, press the mail-to-efdee links (they're everywhere)

I hadn't seen this posted yet, so I thought I'd let you all know. I called
The Body Shop in San Francisco today and they said the promotion has been
postponed. I gave them my name and number, though, so I'll let you know
when they call me to tell me when it will be out.

Subject: 1995 4AD UK promos?

I posted a message about 1995 4AD UK promos a couple of weeks ago, but never
saw it appear on the list and never saw any replies. If I was going through
my daily digest too quickly (again) and missed it and your replies, my
apologies.

What I wanted to know was whether there have been and promos since the Belly
"Seal My Fate" 12" (cat. no. Belly 2)? In particular, are there UK any
promos for:

1. Liquorice
2. Tarnation
3. Air Miami

I already know about the Lisa Gerrard UK/US promo CD. Thanks for your help.

By the way, did anyone read the review of LG's new album in Melody Maker? I
don't think I've ever seen a nastier review. It was even worst than the
annual drubbing Ned's Atomic Dustbin gets!

And another thing, the new Boo Radleys album finally came out in the US, and
it's a must buy for those who love UK pop. Even better than "Giant Steps."

Subject: Cocteau Twins email list or newsgroup

I have been thinking of a separate Cocteau Twins email list or
newsgroup for sometime. This has been brought up on the list before
by others and been dismissed.

Reasons For:
They have not been on 4ad for quite sometime.
Easier to locate an email list named [email protected].
Easiest for people to locate rec.music.cocteau-twins.
For example: how is one to know that rec.music.gaffa is for discussing
Kate Bush? I remember being confused finding out 4ad-l was the proper
place for information on the Cocteau Twins. It took a long time to
find this list.

Reasons Against:
The group or mailing list may not have enough traffic to sustain it.
This email list and the web page just might suffice; many people don't
want to see more newsgroups or email lists. The "creating a new
newsgroup" FAQ makes this plain.
The frequent spamming of newsgroups, and to a lesser extent email
discussion lists, that is taking place nowadays.

Please let me know what you think by email:
How much traffic, in letters or articles per day, do you think it
would get?
Newsgroup, email list, or neither?

Thanks in advance for you input!
Also, please reply to my '[email protected]' account.
Again, thanks!
