95% Serpent's Egg was recorded in a TINY flat on the 13th floor of a high-rise in London. He emphasized how difficult it was to record an album with intimately close neighbors. He said that he and Lisa were most satisfied with this album. But, in no way indicated a dissatisfaction with ANY of their albums.
He did mention something about a follow-up to "Sahara Blue" w/ Hector Zazou called "Cold Seas" which eludes me completely. Said it will be out in the next few weeks. For those of you who do NOT have Hector Zazou's "Sahara Blue", I highly suggest you check it out. Anneli Drecker from Bel Canto, Bill Laswell, John Cale, Ryuchi Sakamoto, David Sylvian, Lisa and Brendan, with a special appearance by Gerard Depardieu, believe it or not.
Regarding the question on the Villarongas films, he said that the second film, "Death and Spring" was never made due to lack of funds. And, that "El Nino de la Luna" will not be released as a soundtrack, and he feels that it will also not be released as a videocassette, although that is not under his control.
Solo release: To be recorded this November. Will definitely be on the 4AD label. He suspects that it will be released April/May and that the title is yet undetermined. He did hint to the possibility of "American Dreaming" being released as a single previous to the release of the solo album. And yes, most of the solo material on the tour circuit you heard will be on this solo album.
Spirit (from "A Passage in Time") was not about a personal event in his life, but, rather about "the struggle of spirit in hard times".
The album "Aion" is pronounced Ay-On. Also, for those interested, in the piece "Black Sun", the lyric is "I have a son, his name is Eden". This is often mistaken for Ethan or even Aion.
