For the last couple of years now, there has been the occasionally raised question of whether there should be a Usenet newsgroup for Lush; namely alt.music.lush.
The result is usually split: some people think it would be a great idea, and some think that such a group would be a waste of time. However, after using one of my fab new dynamic searches, I found that someone had actually proposed the group in alt.config, which is where new 'alt' groups are created.
So, is it a good idea? Here's your chance to voice your opinion. All you have to do is answer yes or no on the voting form and click on 'Cast' to send your vote to me, where my patent pending Amazing Amiga Vote Counting Thing will go through every night and total up the scores.
If you have any comments about the possibility of a Lush newsgroup you can fill in the 'Comments' box as well, but you don't have to. The previously mentioned AAVCT will extract any comments and write them to a file which I'll put on the results page along with the current vote tally. The results page is updated weekly.
Q: What are the issues?
A: A good question. Here are some pros and cons..
Central discussion forum Wide propagation of info Easily accessible May increase popularity? |
alt.music.4ad already caters for Lush Not everyone has Usenet access May split fans between newsgroup and mailing list Inevitable idiots telling us that Lush are crap |
So, now you know the issues at stake, go and exercise your right to vote, or at least take a look at what the rest of the people think on the results page.
