I, David McCallum of Eugene, Oregon, USA, define myself as: An Artist - I'm not producing at the moment, but keeping an eye on current music and CINEMA (the greatest art form to date - though this Internet thing is looking promising....) I'm fascinated by the power that images and sound can have. And, of course, I'm an artist in the art of living (as my budget allows). I also write film reviews for VIEW magazine, a local gay/lesbian journal here in Eugene. An Individual - I love subversive ideas and statements, but I have little interest in subversive fashion (clothes or hairstyles). I'm glad it's out there, just not for me. I love the quote from David Byrne (of Talking Heads) who said that if one were to buy seven identical outfits and wear that outfit everyday, one would never be forgotten. I love conversation and getting to know people, but also cherish time to myself. A Lover/Friend - I'm gay. (And single!) Being gay means loving and having sex with your same sex. If you've got a problem with that (And it is your problem , isn't it?) then you should just leave now - back into your little shell. I really have too many friends to list here, many with websites. Sometimes I believe I know every gay and lesbian in this town of 140,000. A Volunteer - I give my volunteer time to MPowerment, a gay/bisexual men's center in Eugene (http://www.efn.org/~mpower/). Many fine men are a part of the organization, but one stand-out is our Volunteer Coordinator Mark Strait (http://www.efn.org/~mastrait/). Mark has had a gay BBS and website for over ten years now and has helped many gays and lesbians in their deprogramming (including myself.) I volunteer because a wonderful woman once taught me the fact that there is nothing more important in life then the connections we make with others.
