Hi! I'm rather new to this list so I may have missed any previous
discussion of this...

I read something I long time ago about a series of 7 inches that were
supposed to come out on 4AD. They were supposed to be colored vinyl
reissues of older singles by the 4AD artists.

Does anyone know if this happened or if it will happen soon? I work at a
record store and I asked my boss to keep an eye out for them but that
doesn't mean that he actually did.

Thanks,

I was listening to the radio last night when the DJ announced that the
next record they were going to play was to be by Garbage BEFORE Garbage
were invented featuring TOni Halliday/ Dean Garcia. I thought it would be
one of the old tracks but NO! Wait for it - its a new track. Quite good -
back to the old style before Cuckoo. I'm not sure of the title -
something like Pink Girl Dreaming and the DJ didn't say when it was going
to be released but I don't care it gives us something to look forward to.

Scott is quite correct, alas, on your chances of finding one.

well, the actual title is "Man Sings Moon on the Silver Mountain" and it
really is just a collection of songs through Home Is In Your Head....but it
does have very pretty artwork....what 4AD completist would go without one?
A very nice thing to have in the car...kind of like a "best of" CD instead
of draggin out all 3 lp's to take with you.

The manufacturer is long out of business, so the used market is your
only hope. And if you find one it has a limited lifetime as the little
ridges on the wheels wear off. But they are great fun. (-8

The actual actual title is "[His Name is Alive] sings man on the silver
mountain and 8 other songs." It's pretty easy to find, especially in the
Seattle area.

Does anyone know where I can get the Dead Can Dance bootleg CD
"Gothic Spleens"?

CD Europe has had the Dif Juz album Who Says So listed
as available on CD for a long time now. Has anyone tried
ordering it? I just put my order in-- it comes to about $20
in the US.

I just saw this Cocteau Twins bootleg/live LP at a local record shop, called
_Lovers are Mortal_. It was recorded in April of 1983 at Newcastle City Hall
(I think, this is all from memory). Anyway, I was considering buying it until
I was told the price was US$45. Is this thing worth 45 bucks?

So "Shark" is UK/Europe only...

Does someone have more info about the US-only "Ruthie's Knocking" single?

The "Ruthie's Knocking" ep contains the same trax as the "Shark" ep with the
obvious exception of the title track on each. It rocks tremendously. Try
some.

It's great for making HNIA tapes, when you need clean fades/edits of
certain songs (I'm willing to bet Ryko slapped together the artwork on this
one). Same with the TMC box set sampler disc!
