Sorry that was a typing-error. It's Barbara, just as firt should be first :)

They broke up 10 years ago!

Trying to cash in on their 4AD-fame. How sad. How old are these guys now?
55? 60?

Anybody know the lineup (who's on first/second) for the recent dates. The
biling for Philly is listed as Lush/Scheer/Mojave 3, which would imply
Mojave 3 going on first, but I would expect them second... and I know
that the 'press coverage' of this tour hasn't been too precise... anybody
know for sure or are they switching show to show?

For those of you in Seattle-

Mojave 3 will be playing a live acoustic set next friday at the Orpheum CD store
at 4pm before the pavement shaving extravaganza.

I'll see you there.

I'm pretty sure that Mojave and Scheer are alternating slots. DC has
Mojave playing 2nd ......

And others have said the exact same thing about Ivo himself. I say
cut the ageist and fame-centered bullshit.

        David,

I do not know if it has already been posted as I have been off the list
for a while, so forgive me if I repeat someone else's post. Anyways,
Mojave will be playing an in-store acoustic set on Friday, April 12 at
four o'clock at Orpheum Records. Orpheum's address is 618 Broadway East
up on Capitol Hill in scenic Seattle, so, like the man gedge says, "go man
go."

Subject: Sugarplastic show tonight

The Sugarplastic plays tonight (Friday).
11pm at Spaceland.
As you've heard me proclaim countless times before,
this is a brilliant very much in the style of XTC.

Then there's the album release show for Super 31
on Sunday, 8pm at the Alligator Lounge. I've described
them before too as sort of a dreampop-shoegaze-Spiritualized
band. Come get your very own glow-in-the-dark "Super 31"
guitar pick.

I believe Saturday is the night of the Apples (in stereo) show
at Sapceland, plus they have an in-store show at No Life
tonight, I believe. Maybe Rodney can confirm that.

All in all, it's bound to be a memorable weekend for
local (and not so local) music. So shake the apathetic cobwebs
out of your heads and get out there. [note: Dewdrops has no
connection with any of these bands besides being big fans.]

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm kinda excited about the
Modern English shows. I think it's only Robbie Gray (vocalist) from the
original band-- something like everyone else split after
Stop Start (and who could blame them...?) and it was basically a new
band for Pillow Lips. I'm going if for no other reason than to
see what they've become (how bad could it be...? ...don't answer that!)
We could always shout out things like "16 Days" or "Swans On Glass"
to really surprise them. Speaking of which, I had forgotten how
unpleasant the Mesh And Lace album was until I heard it on CD
a couple days ago. What a morose bunch they were! And what a
surprise when less than a year later they released the brilliant
After The Snow.

Subject: Help! Stereolab/Bel Canto

Hi all.
Could some of you Stereolab fans point me toward a good starting
point album-wise? I'm interested in hearing them, but don't know
where to begin.
Also, (possibly a different group of fans) are the first 2 Bel Canto
albums (_White- Out Conditions_ and _Birds of Passage_) as good as
_Shimmering, Warm and Bright_ and _Magic Box_?
Thank you all very much for your help!
