Our prayers have been answered! Just called the 4AD hotline and the guy said
that Ivo is releasing a new TMC project in conjunction with the Frazer,
Raymonde & Guthrie.=20
The album, titled 'He who laughs last...' also features colaborations by
Lisa Gerrard, Brendan Perry and the whole Brazil Samba School! (Thanks to
Perry=B4s recent trips to Brazil)

For further info, check the 4AD hotline.

Loving these days,

Pepe

I'm not sure if I listed the setlist song by song, but at the moment (Cambridge
Junction, Sunday 31st March), the setlist contains:

Songs from Lovelife & B-sides:
Heavenly Nobodies
Childcatcher
500
Single Girl
Ladykillers
Runaway
Last Night
Demystification (third encore sometimes)

Songs from Split:
Light from a Dead Star
Hypocrite
Never Never
Undertow
Lovelife

Older Songs:
Sweetness & Light
Deluxe
For Love

Other Songs:
That new Wire cover version that I've forgotten the name of
(third encore sometimes)

Although not in that order of course.

I THINK that's it, but my memory could be suffering... It's been a long tour.

My next tour report (Reading, Nottingham, Cambridge) to follow later today.

tired...

I hate all latin music.
So it was country music on 'Toward The Within', 'Samba' on the new album.
What's next?

Subject: Vindication for Twinlights/New CT

I am most happy. When Twinlights came out last year I paid the outrageous
price of $13.99. Needless to say I no longer frequent that CD store.
Today however redemption was found. At a nearby Tower that I'd only been
to once before I asked the girl in charge of singles for the new Tishbite
CD. She showed me one of them and I asked about the other. She hesitated
for a moment and then from a secret hiding place pulled out both Tishbite
singles (that she had been saving for herself) for an astounding $5.99 a
piece!!!

Yay! Cheers! Shouts of acclamation for this great person!!!

She explained that they had come through another distributor, thus the
cheaper price. I went on to astound her with my knowledge of Cocteau lore
and we had an enjoyable conversation.

Not bad. I love the stuff on the second one. I must agree with Brant
though that whoever came up with this brilliant marketing ploy deserves
cruel punishment. Unfortunately since most of us will probably buy both
CDs we are encouraging this unjust behaviour. Sigh.

cheers,

matthew

hello.

I seem to remember months ago there was discussion on this list about
the film Baraka. I am writing an ethnographic critique on this film and
would like to find out the origins of the word Baraka and its meaning.

If anyone out there can help me with this, it would be greatly
appreciated.
