Mr. Brinkhuis is definitely correct on this - score the gentleman some points
for his perceptiveness! :) There's a bit of a disagreement (a friendly one
at that, mind you) with respect to the specific number of songs on the 10",
although the general concensus seems to sit somewhere at six. However,
calling the 10" a "two-sided EP" would be a more appropriate call, methinks.

>cassette? Please let us know if it's still worth to get the cassette if you
>have the 10"?

Although it can be argued that I'm not quite the most disinterested third
party to interject an opinion on this matter, I must say that the Time Stereo
cassette is very much well worth owning, even if you do have the 10". The
two releases complement each other quite well, and the 10" does not have the
"jump back, honey, jump back" song.

Strictly my own personal $0.02 here, of course. :)

since so many kids have mentioned it over the past couple days I figured that
nobody actually read my post that mentioned that I would be willing to do it
for anybody who wants it (within limits, of course). cost to you = postage
and the cost of a tape. That's reasonable, eh?

Lisa Gerrard @ Virgin Megastore, San Francisco. Monday October 23, 1995 @

Air Miami show at San Jose State was wonderful. Mark gave me 3 boxes of the
single to distribute so I'll make you kids an offer....KSCU (my lovely little
radio station here in lovely Santa Clara, CA) is having a fundraiser soon and
we'll be offering lovely 4AD stuff as premiums for it. Anyone who pledges to
the fundraiser will automatically receive a copy of the single, that's in
addition to the premiums you'll be picking up. I'll keep you kids posted as
to what's up for bid.

Scheer--->4AD wants to outsell the Breeders. Perfect commercial fodder.

Does anyone have the catalog number for the Dirt Eaters album? I know (i
think) it's on Perdition Plastics, but i'm having trouble ordering it from
the local shop.

ok, that's enough for now.

Subject: HNIA non-4AD discography request

I'm trying to compile a list of all His Name Is Alive non-4AD/WARNERS/RYKO
releases, and other (obscure) HNIA-related stuff. I'm afraid the list below
is far from exhaustive. For instance, I know nothing about the Dirt Eaters
album, that was mentioned a few postings ago, while there are also a lot of
tapes in the Time Stereo catalogue (especially the ESP stuff) that might be
HNIA-related, but I'm just not sure.

HIS NAME IS ALIVE
'Riotoussness And Postrophe' Private cassette, 1990
'Love Can't Buy Happiness' Private cassette, 1991
'King Of Sweet' CD, 1993 (Perdition Plastics, PP 001-2)
'Live In Mexico' Cassette, 1994 (Time Stereo)
-- I think there's also a HNIA track on a Perdition Plastics compilation CD --

ESP SUMMER (Warren Defever)
'ESP Summer' cassette, 1994 (Time Stereo)
'ESP Summer' 10", 1995 (Farrago, FRG 08)
'??' 7", 1995 (Perdition Plastics) this isn't out yet, is it?

LIQUORICE (Trey Many)
'Stalls' 7", 1995 (Simple Machines, SMR 38)
'Little League' on 'Red Hot And Bothered Vol. 1' 10", 1995

PRINCESS DRAGON MOM (??)
'Man On Silver' 7", 1995 (ALLEYSWEEPER, 006)
A split 7" with LAUGHING GAS, 1994

MYSTIC MOOG ORCHESTRA
Self-titled(?) CD, featuring members of THE DIRT EATERS and PRINCES DRAGON
MOM, 1995

THE DIRT EATERS
??

Please drop me a line for corrections, additions etc. Thanks in advance!
I'll post the final result to the list.

By the way, I also welcome information concerning Warren Defever production
jobs. All I know is that he did Liquorice, Grenadine, Tarnation and Godzuki.

Cheers,
Frank

did anyone else notice that they use the font that vaughan designed for
that FUSE94 thing as buttons on the lower left hand side of the pages? a
nice touch. good thing they didn't use it for the entire text - the damn

well with those people who hate hope sandoval for being too happy.

I saw a CD on Friday called "Rare on Air vol. 2" (a radio station in

once again i'll say it. notice how the band is not playing in madison, even
though they have been frequently described by the national press as a
"madison, wis" band. with a university of around 40,000 in the city, and a
major "alternative" music station, it's not like there isn't a market for
the band's "hometown." garbage is the nineties equivilent of the monkees
(or the new kids on the block, if you wish.) created by record company
higher ups with the sole intent of duping the "alternative" market. the
"alternative scene" is, for the most part, a commercialized sham don't give
it credibility by throwing it your money. a world tour after one album?
now that's sick.

This is a series from Geffen i believe of "rare" tracks of Geffen
artists. The artwork has no connection to 23 as far as i know, anyone

Yeah, I thought this was a big improvement upon Shaded by the Leaves.
Less flighty new-agey nature-worship stuff and much stronger, more direct
pop songwriting. Not that ethereal is bad by any means, but the line
between art and artifice is a thin one there at times.
