A genius named Tim Buckley wrote and performed "Song to the Siren". TMC
have done some of his other songs as well, but i can't remember which
ones off hand and my boxed set is at home. If someone else doesn't beat
me to the answers i can get that information for you if you'd like.
Cheers,

I think that one or more of my CT cd's from the box set have
been stolen from my cd collection. I know that Tiny Dynamite is
missing... Could someone please list for me all of the cd's
that are in the box set? I seem to have forgotten! Thanx!

To UK subscribers.
Apart from getting This Rimy Tiver book from the 4AD mail order are there
any other bookshops selling this. I tried in my local Waterstones but
they didn't haven't. I also tried Dillons. My HMV is too small to carry it.
Did anyone see RHP on Electric Ballroom on Saturday.

Ha ha ha ha, the 4AD list accusing another list of not sticking to the
topic. Ha ha ha ha. Let's face it, *all* mailing lists are for discussing
whatever the fuck their members want to discuss. The only reason mailing
lists have charters is so that people, who can't think of more original
flames, can flame other people for being off-topic.

Hi,
Last week I found the _Long Secret_ compilation CD on Harriet in my local
record shop. It's a nice comp, but I haven't listened to it enough yet to
give a good description so I won't.
But so far, the song on it by the Australian band _The Cat's Miauw_ struck
me completely. Is there anyone who knows more about them? Do other tracks
of them exist? If so, on what label? (Summershine I would expect).
Thanks,
--gert
P.S. I'm not subscribed to the list, so please mail me personally (or
cc me at least) --- thanks

eh, and since we are talking about mispresses.....
when i went to london in january, i bought a tape by the beautiful south,
and the title of the tape was "choke", and there were the lyrics of
the songs inside the sleeve. however; noone of the songs on the tape
matched the tittles of lyrics.
anyone else shares my experience with tbs's choke? :)

does anyone know if the throwing muses ep (i don't recall the name)
with "finished" and "cry baby cry" and two other songs (i don't recall
the names) is available on cd? My vinyl copy has warped and I would
love to own it on cd. IMHO, it is the best work they've done.

Sounds like it could be - it has a sort of biblical ring to it, but
then this is the band that once released something entitled I Had Sex
With God, so it doesn't seem likely. I do know that Warren has
produced some stuff for a really, really awful band who are total
jeezus freaks - I wonder if he knows that...

Let's hope they do this in more of an old-Seefeel style; given their last few
releases one would expect the results to consist of nothing but the "Treasure"
drum tracks with some distortion and echo, plus one-second snippets of Liz's
voice once in a while. (OK, I like "Succour", but I wouldn't want a remix of
"Treasure" to sound anything like that.)

It's more complicated than that. If you have a trademark on a word, and you
let somebody else use that word not in connection with your product, without
stopping them or filing a lawsuit, you can lose your trademark since it will
be determined by the courts that the word has fallen into generic usage. This
has happened to many now-generic words that were once valuable trademarks
(can't remember any at the moment) and still keeps the lawyers for Kleenex and
Xerox awake at night.
(Speaking of old jazz record labels, I recommend the Blue Note CD sampler that
Starbucks is selling for $10 to promote their new Blue Note blend. It's got
some really tasty tracks by Coltrane, Monk, Billie Holliday et al; plus "Song
For My Father", which Steely Dan copped as the riff to "Rikki Don't Lose That
Number", and which Meat Beat Manifesto sampled heavily on one of the tracks on
"100%".)

This CD has turned up at the local Blockbuster Music, of all places.
Although it does have the 4AD logo, it does appear to be a boot. It was
like $32 or so, if anyone's interested. (Ugh...)

Paul definitely was, if not Al. Paul sings on a couple of tracks on their
first record, _Gub._
Actually, I swore for awhile that I saw the 4AD logo on the Revolting Cocks
last release...

Uh...yeah, they were... Paul Barker plays all over the first Pigface album
and most of who played on the first album were part of the Ministry touring
band at that time...supposedly Martin Atkins had the tact to approach
everyone, including Al, to solicit their input into this project. Al was
the only one who turned down the offer, but gave his blessing to Martin for
stealing his entire band for his own project.
