You 'can't go wrong' with any selection you make. Pick up whatever album
suits your eye, and prepare to be entranced. (but, my personal favorite is
Home is in Your Head).

I thought Bettie Serveert were brilliant on MTV's 120 Minutes...
Don't slag their camera presence--Dutch is there native language, not
American slang!
and besides, everyone fucks around on that lame show...

Since it's okay to remind people about unanswered postings...
What can anyone tell me about Sleeping Dogs Wake. They're on Hyperium(?),
presumably "thislisty", and rather unknown. I was curious if anyone could
recommend (or steer me away from) any of their four(?) albums. I have the
opportuntiy to buy the import of "Threnody" for $10. If the music's good,
that's quite a deal. And I figured if anyone knows, they're probably on
4AD-L.
C'mon people, be neighborly...
...no need to waste band-width, either. Unless you think everyone would be
interested, send your S.D.W. info to [email protected]
Thanks (?)

Some questions about the Portishead x-tra tracks, IT'S A FIRE and SOUR SOUR
TIMES.
>My copy is currently lent out, but I believe the only track you mention
>that's not on the US release is "Sour Sour Times", presumably a remix. How
>does it differ from the album version?
>
>Jens Alfke ________ OpenDoc Mnemonist _______ [email protected]
>whats with the extra sour times?
>who mixed it?
>Dummyspotter
There are no credits on the album for SOUR SOUR. As to the difference, well
its a remix keeping the same tempo. Just a different version. The real
treat is the hidden track?? What I mean by this is after SOUR SOUR TIMES,
there is a 20 sec dead spot, followed by this instrumental track. Think of
what Slowdive did with its instrumentals on Souvlaki and now think of what
Portishead would do with an instrumental. Sounds like something from a movie
soundtrack.
Doesn't Protishead remind you of Perfume Tree???

This I have to have! Is the Michael Brook mix the same one
that appears on the Going South single (I can't remember the
name of the mix)? What is the packaging like? Where is
this available (particularly by mail) or can some kind soul
(presumably in the UK) arrange a remote purchase in return
for my first born, etc.
grant..
